He suffered from various illnesses over the past few years. He underwent knee surgery twice and even he never had a gig with a wheelchair.

Clarence own last appearance was his collaboration with Lady Gaga bring 2 songs live on American Idol last month, which was taken from his new album Lady Gaga Born This Way. For Lady Gaga itself, Clarence became an important figure, because Lady Gaga grown and influenced by the style of music Bruce Springsteen and the E Street Band where Clarence is in it.
Besides being a musician, Clarence is also known in the acting world. Clarence appeared in several films such as New York, New York “and” Bill & Ted’s Excellent Adventure and television film of The Wire and The Simpsons. From this human family Clarence earned the nickname The Great “The Big Man”.
Before the stroke, Clarence himself had problems with his health since the tour of Bruce Springsteen and the E Street Band in 2009, where Clarence had to undergo knee surgery. Last month, Clarence gig with Lady Gaga in the final season of “American Idol.” Hopefully, he quickly recovered from a stroke, so he could look back to normal on his stage performance.
